AFI 100 YEARS, 100 MOVIES

La AFI (American Film Institute), cada 10 años escoge las 100 mejores películas de la historia del cine. Esta lista es creada de un total de 400 películas nominadas. Este año, el instituto cumple 100 años, y volvió a sacar su tan esperada lista.

Entre las primeras 10 no hay muchas sorpresas. El Ciudadano Kane sigue siendo (segun ellos) la mejor película, sólo que ahora está escoltada por el padrino 1 (en la anterior entrega, era escoltada por casablanca). Creo que está bien, a pesar de que el padrino sea mi pelicula favorita, el ciudadano kane le lleva cierta ventaja por lo revolucionaria que fue para su tiempo (Lo que las peliculas de Hitchcock son para el genero de terror y suspenso, el ciudadano kane lo es para el cine en general).

Sorpresas agradables: Me agrada que Toro Salvaje se encuentre entre las primeras 10, asi como también Lawrence de Arabia y Vértigo (En general quedé conforme con la elección de peliculas de Hitchcock).

Desagradables: Personalmente, creo que este top 10 no debería estar la lista de Schindler (debería estar 20 ó 30 eso si)...que mas...Ah! Donde quedó el Doctor Zhivago?????. Es mi gran duda. Otra gran duda, pero en menor medida es la no inclusión de JFK (En general, Oliver Stone salió muy perjudicado en esta lista).

Claro, mi criterio es super límitado y me cuesta aceptar que estén en esta lista peliculas Tiburón (Jaws) y West Side Story (Amor sin Barrerar) y no lo estén peliculas como Alien, Terminator, Batman y Carrie. También me cuesta aceptar que Sunset Blvd esté tan encumbrada y Pulp Fiction y Blade Runner, tan relegadas.

Y bueno, eso...

Recordemos que es sólo un ranking, no son los 10 mandamientos ni nada por el estilo.
